It’s All about Body Piercing

In this article, we will be talking about a new topic namely body piercing. I am pretty sure that you have heard and known what body piercing means. Everywhere we go, we can find many people who have body piercings.
Let me clarify in a more detail way regarding the body piercing.

1. My Personal perceptions of Body Piercing

Body piercing is a form of body modifications. Personally, as a well-trained worker in the Body piercing Gold Coast salon, I think that having body piercings is something common to the present generations, both women and men alike.  Body piercing is the practice of septic, cutting or punching holes in the human body, where we can install jewelry. In modern society, people generally do body piercing is for jewelry and ornament. In some cultural and religious communities, this body piercings which are installed with precious jewelry have special meanings and values. On the other hand, some groups perceive this as a logo, a sign of establishment, and a symbol of rebellion.

In reality, body piercing is very common to women. In almost every society, they do body piercings for girls when they are still very small. In certain communities, women are obliged to have body piercings and use jewelry. It symbolizes their degrees and identities in society.

2. A Brief History of

A. Egyptians

After working some years in New Age Salon Chameleon, a famous body piercing salon in Gold Coast, I the realize that is important also to know about the history of body piercing.  I then decide to have some researches. Based on the research that I did recently via the internet and library, the oldest human bodies which are still preserved until today are found in Egypt. It is said that those Egyptian mummies are found with stretched earlobes. The ancient Egyptians liked to adorn themselves with luxurious jewelry. In order to have more jewelry, they had to have more body piercings. That symbolized their hierarchies in society. For the royal family like Pharaoh certainly bedecked themselves with precious and luxurious jewelry, garments, and ornaments. It is said that only Pharaoh who was allowed to have his navel pierced. It was strictly prohibited to anyone else. If he found someone who did his or her navel pierced, that person automatically would be executed. Traditionally, the ancient Egyptians wore earrings to emphasize their wealth and beauty.

B. Romans

All of us might have heard about the Roman Empire. In the old times, they ruled over many countries in the world. They were so powerful. The Roman Empire was very firm-established that many nations found it difficult to defeat them. Body piercing was so common to them. Body piercing emphasizes a particular meaning. Some pierced their nipples to signify their power. It was a symbol of unity for them like what Julius Caesar did.

C. Asia

One of the famous magazines in Australia which cooperates with the Body Piercing Salon from Gold Coast once published an article about the history of body piercing in Asia. It says that the first ear piercing was practiced by the Asian primitive tribes for magical purposes.  They believed that the use of metal as jewelry could repel the demons and spirits. They wore metallic jewelry in order to prevent the penetration of bad spirit.
