Humans have lived for tens of millions of years in
this world, with the rapid development they have found. From the discovery of
hunting tools, musical instruments, medical devices, clothing and other, every
human civilization has needs that are constantly being prioritized. In the
present era more than 50% of people prioritize appearance, money and success,
they give almost 50% of their life time to succeed in the work and business
they pursue, money has almost become a god for humans in the world they will do
anything to get money, appearance has almost become an assessment for nearly
70% of people to judge someone as appropriate or not.
It's sad when
the views of many people become like this, and make all humans in today's age
vying for appearance, money and success to forget more important things like
health. Though the meaning of our lives in this world is happiness and thankful
for what we have and gone through, and the basis of happiness itself is a
healthy, calm body, mind and soul. When we have made peace with ourselves
through a good body, mind and soul, we will feel happiness from within
ourselves and the people we love. As long as human civilization takes place,
our predecessors have tried to find techniques and medical devices to be
inherited and developed by their successors.
Ayurveda
One of them is Ayurveda, which is the best health care
product for body, mind and soul until this day. Ayurveda itself has two
techniques in health care, meditation and treatment that we know as Yoga and Massage. Yoga is a care of the mind and soul that has several types such as
Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Hot Yoga, Kundalini
Yoga, Prenatal Yoga dan Ying Yoga. Massage is a treatment of the body and mind
that has several types such as Ayurveda Body Massage, Indian Foot Massage,
Shirodhara Head Massage, Ayurveda Facial dan Kasti Basti Body Massage and
Therapy. From this we can understand if the teachings in the book of Ayurveda,
save a lot of important knowledge to be inherited and practiced by you and the
next generation.
Yoga
It is a meditation with several pose movements, which
maintain the balance and strength of the members of the body in striking. There
are thousands of yoga poses for beginners, medium and hardest, which provide
many benefits for body, mind and soul. This article will only discuss about
Hatha Yoga, below with their benefits.
- Hatha Yoga. A type of beginner yoga with relaxed and calm movements, many types of yoga that resemble hatha yoga such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Iyengar yoga. Although the movements are almost the same but still have differences from the tempo of each pose.
- Mountain Pose, stand with your body parallel and upright with your palms facing forward keep pose for 60 second. Benefits, if you do the pose correctly it will help improve your posture, strengthen your ankles and thighs, strengthen your abdominal and hip muscles, reduce back pain and improve a hunchback.
- Standing Forward Bend Pose, stand with your legs straight and parallel by bending, your body down until you can kiss your knees and use your hands to hold the pose for 18-20 seconds. Benefits, stretch hamstrings and calves, reduce headaches and anxiety, strengthen thighs and knees, therapy for asthma, sinusitis and high blood pressure.
- Downward Facing Dog Pose, standing with your feet upright and parallel to the curve of your body until your palms touch the floor try to make the body resemble the letter A and hold the pose for 30 seconds. Benefits, increases energy and restores the body's freshness, strengthens the legs and shoulders, provides stretching or strength for the hands, calves and hamstrings.
- Bridge Pose, sleep your body, bend your legs down with the soles of your feet touching the floor until your body is lifted and straighten your hands down to support your body weight, with each other holding hands and hold pose about 30-60 second. Benefits, do it regularly to massage and train the strength of the spine, neck and thighs, improve performance and areas of the heart, chest and shoulders.
Massage
This is a movement with the technique of pressure,rubbing, clapping and pulling on the body, which always uses oil, cream, water
and milk for several minutes to hours. You will lay yourself face down and, on
your back, by closing your eyes or calming your body and mind. Massage is
usually done by hand or using other media, such as wood and stone, but for
Ayurveda massage they only use bare hands with additional techniques from flow
and dough.
- Ayurveda Massage. Have several types of massage such as shirodhara, Kasti basti, ayurveda body massage and foot massage. But each has a different technique from the media, the way and pressure on the body. The benefits of a massage will usually be felt direct by the body even though sometimes the massage process feels a little painful for some people, because it results from their bodies being too tired or having some other disorder.
- Ayurveda Facial, massage techniques with the round and pull movements in the face and neck area, using herbal ingredients and essential oils. By pressing, pulling and massaging with round techniques in certain areas for 60-90 minutes. Benefits, cleanses the face of dust and pollution, removes dead skin cells, moisturizes and refreshes the skin, tightens and rejuvenates facial skin so that the face looks easier and healthier.
- Shirodhara Head Massage, use a calm flow technique from oil, milk, warm water, water and coconut oil, poured in the forehead for several minutes and followed by massage on the forehead, head and neck.
